About 7 weeks ago on June 1st two absolutely insane gringos did something bizarre and crazy: they opened El Salvador’s first Craft Brewery serving Cerveza Artesenal.

The plan was to open soft and let business grow slowly by word of mouth so that we could continue to build up our systems and perfect our processes.

But apparently El Salvador LOVES our Craft Beer! From the very first day we have been SOOOO much busier than we ever thought at this time! We have been blown away by the love and support of BREW in El Salvador! Muchisimas gracias! after the first 3 weeks we were forced to brew as much as we planned to brew in the 4th month of our plan. And then by month 2 we were already brewing 30% more than that and STILL selling out every weekend! And now half way into month 3 we are once again brewing at 30% more than that and still running out!

OK so we are a small micro cerveceria. We are a true hands-on craft brewery with an emphasis on craft. our brew system is a small but efficient 2.5 HL three vessel system. We designed it ourselves and had it custom built here in El Salvador because we believe in keeping our money local and not sending it off to China.

So that means that each batch of beer we brew can be up to 250 liters. Right now we brew 2x a week and only brew 200 liters per batch because we are limited by refrigeration space in our small building. When we started we were brewing once a week and only 100 liters per batch so we have tripled in less than 2 months! Craziness but good crazy.

We have also perfected our 3 core beer offerings and we can produce them every week. We now have our much loved Mercurio IPA (the first and only IPA in Central America!), our famous Venus Wit Tropical Wit Bier and our Nyx Black Coffee Ale. (We also have a custom brewed beer just for Hotel Mopelia called Maupihaa a Belgian spiced ale. )All three are radically different, awesome flavors and all have a little something of our beloved El Salvador in them. And all of them sell equally well so far!

We are hard at work already planning the expansion of the brewery to double our capacity! And we are getting very close to being able to sell our beers to other high quality select bars and restaurants in San Salvador and other areas! So get ready for the Brew Revolution coming to you!
